Pamela Waltz, PhD
Organizational Psychologist
Executive Coach
Meet Pamela
I’m an organizational psychologist and executive coach who helps senior leaders navigate change with grounded confidence, rooted in a clear sense of what matters most and the capacity to move toward it.

With a doctoral degree in Organizational Psychology, a mini-MBA, and years of experience working alongside senior leaders across diverse settings, my coaching is informed by research and professional insight.

For more than a decade, I’ve coached and advised senior leaders through significant professional and personal transitions. My work has helped clients:

-
Navigate transitions into next-level roles and new organizations
-
Recover from leadership setbacks with increased resilience
-
Make decisions with increased confidence
-
Develop next-level skills to meet evolving demands
-
Navigate conflict and communication challenges more skillfully
-
Manage time more intentionally, focusing on what truly matters
-
Exit roles and begin new life chapters with clarity and purpose
My coaching approach is flexible and client-centered. Each session follows the client's motivation, pressure points, and immediate challenges—while always orienting toward the larger goals of our work together. I balance honest challenge with unwavering support, creating a stabilizing climate for growth, especially during times of high anxiety and uncertainty.

I bring nearly three decades of diverse professional experience to my coaching practice, including roles in startup operations, applied research for the U.S. Army, management consulting for high-growth companies, and nonprofit leadership. My background has equipped me to partner effectively with leaders in the private, public, and nonprofit sectors, across industries such as healthcare, telecom, and professional services. Clients value my understanding of their business context and the specific challenges they face.

I am an experienced spiritual director in the Christian faith tradition and offer a distinct coaching path for clients who want to experience a deeper connection with God and themselves in their leadership: Spiritually Aligned Executive Coaching. This is a nuanced coaching relationship at the intersection of Christian spiritual direction, the growing field of Management and Spirituality, and executive coaching. It situates the client's leadership journey within the context of their spiritual journey. Together we look for God's invitations in the challenges, change, and frenetic pace of leadership.

I completed my PhD in Organizational Psychology with minors in Statistics and Social Psychology at Northern Illinois University. I hold a mini-MBA from the Foster School of Business and a bachelor’s degree in Economics.

Having lived in the mountains of Montana, Idaho, and Wyoming, I now call Northern Virginia home. In my free time, I enjoy being on the trails with my husband, a luthier who builds handcrafted guitars.
